The Zoetrope was invented in 1834 by the British mathematician William George Horner. It consists of a series of drawings printed on strips of paper, that is to be placed inside the rounded drum. As the Zoetrope rotates, the images seem to come to life. Just try to look at them through the vertical slits of the cylinder and you will get a vivid animation right before your eyes!
